THE STORY

A tiny monopole vineyard in Vosne-Romanée that yields only a few thousand bottles a year. The wine is perfumed, ethereal and astonishingly layered.

Nose

Rose petal, wild strawberry, forest floor, exotic spice.

Palate

Weightless but intense; red cherries, spice and a velvet texture.

Finish

Endless — spice and dried flowers that linger for minutes.

Serve at

16°C 61°F

Open ahead

30 min

Decant to let the wine breathe and soften.

Drink within

35 years

A genuine cellar wine.

At the table

Roast duck, truffle dishes and delicate game birds.

How it is made

Hand-harvested, fermented with whole bunches in wood vats and aged in new French oak.

Terroir & region

A tiny parcel of limestone-clay soils on a gentle east-facing slope in the Côte de Nuits.

Collector’s spotlight

Only around five thousand bottles are made each year, and a single bottle can cost more than a new car. For most of us, reading about it is the closest we will come — which is exactly why it fascinates.

The club never sells bottles. Beware of counterfeits — buy only from trusted merchants.
